Dental Care Experience

Dr. Mia Balsom began her dentistry journey in a somewhat unconventional manner. After earning a bachelor’s degree in American History from Trinity College, she worked full-time at a dental office while taking night courses through the Harvard School of Extension to acquire the math and sciences courses necessary to apply to dental school. She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.

When it comes to dentistry, Dr. Balsom especially enjoys fixed and removable prosthetics, fueled by the challenge and fulfillment of restoring broken or missing teeth through crowns, bridges, implants and dentures. Dr. Balsom frequently takes continuing education courses both locally and around the country. She also participates in various community service projects, from programs that provide free dental care for veterans to dental outreach in downtown Boston community centers.

In her free time, Dr. Balsom loves spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling and sports.
